About Akron

Set in the hills of the Western Reserve along the Eerie Canal, Akron, Ohio sits in a great spot. The location explains why the city boasts a prosperous history replete with capital-minded industrialists who specialized in everything from rubber to edibles. At the end of the 19th century, Akron became the home of BF Goodrich and the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, making it the "Rubber Capital of the World."
