Very satisfied with our stay at the Radisson. The room was very large and had everything we needed. The staff was very helpful, the food was great, and the Waterpark of America was a wonderful experience for the family. We totally enjoyed it.

“Love this hotel...but could us some TLC”

We have been visiting this hotel since August 2006 and it is the only hotel we would ever consider staying at close to The Mall of America. It is in an amazing location, the lobby is beautiful and the water park is well run and the kids love it. The hotel rooms are large and well laid out for families with lots of options. We have stayed in regular rooms, rooms with bunk beds and suites. They are all well laid out. The Split Rock Grille has great food for the evening. We usually will eat a later lunch while out shopping and then head back to the hotel and go to the water park in the evening. We will often make a stop at the Split Rock Grille for some late night food. The chicken and wild rice soup is amazing and I will have this menu item every time I stay at this hotel! So please don't take it off the menu! It is so good! The wood fired pizza is also really good. Love the Tomato and Basil one! The caesar salad is also really good. The evening Hostesses Ann and Brandy are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff are also all great...however, we don't have breakfast as often compared to the evenings. I find the breakfast buffet way over priced. We would probably have breakfast in the hotel every morning if the prices were more reasonable. The front desk staff are also all friendly and we have never had a poor experience. The staff are well trained and friendly. Now with all the good being said I was disappointed this past visit. We have been staying at this hotel since the very beginning, usually 2x per year. This was the first time I was ever disappointed with the appearance of the hotel. The lobby and main floor all still look beautiful and well maintained. However, once stepping off the elevator and onto the floors...I was on 2 and 4 this past visit and they look worn. The wall paper is torn and falling off the walls, wood fixtures in the hallways are damaged and laying on the floors. Once inside the room the room is also tired. The carpets look old, in our room the great hanger they have outside of the bathroom to hang towels and bathing suits on was broken. Usually there are 4 pegs and we had to 2 pegs. The walls are banged up and patched poorly, the wooden blinds are broken and cords are all broken and missing the pieces, the bathroom door is all bubbling and looks terrible from moisture damage. My kids usually love sleeping on the bunk beds. They would squeak and crack every time my son rolled over on the top bunk. We finally had to have him join us on the first night and then every night after that they slept on the pull out instead because the bunk beds were too noisy. The comforters look old and need replacing. All of these things can be fixed with some TLC. We love this hotel and often recommend it. I will drive the extra 4 hours to stay here rather than going to the Canad Inns in Grand Forks. I have told the Canad Inns that they should make the trip to your hotel to learn a thing or two about customer service and how to run a water park. You guys do a fantastic job! The customer service and well run hotel make it worth the drive. However, you need to do some minor renovating to keep this hotel looking as good as the service you provide.
