Radisson has signed and is committed to upholding The Code of Conduct to Protect Children Against Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism. ‘The Code’. GENERAL HOTEL INITIATIVES
The Radisson Royal Bogota Hotel supports NUTRIR Foundation through its 'Amiguitos Royal' program which helps more than 400 children suffering from malnutrition, neglect and social problems through the following programs:

• Daily Food
• Ongoing training
• Workshops on health
• Leisure activities

At the same time, it takes care of pregnant and nursing women that, due to malnutrition problems, affect the future of their children. The Radisson Royal Hotel is committed to help this cause by nourishing, preventing and promoting healthy lifestyles.

• At Christmas, the hotel employees voluntarily give one or more gifts to the children of Amiguitos Royal; these children additionally receive other gifts from the hotel.
• The Radisson Royal Hotel supports the FIDES Foundation by hiring disabled staff.
• The Radisson Royal Hotel supports the Colombian Junior Achievement Foundation through its Partners for a Day Program. This program allows top graduates of district schools to enter to the hotel facilities in order to know the operation of each area, especially the hotel management. The hotel additionally helps this foundation organize events aimed at social work.
• The Hotel annually supports missionary workers by doing a cocktail to raise money for their social work with some communities in Kenya.
• The Radisson Royal Hotel manages solid waste generated in its operation. The recyclable material is donated to the FUNTESA foundation.
• The Radisson Royal Hotel, in its commitment to environment preservation and within the framework of the Green Key Certification, is working on three environmental programs aimed to reduce power and water consumption as to diminish the generation of waste pollutants.

HOUSEKEEPING

• Guests are encouraged to participate in the environmental programs of the hotel.
• There is a formal system that gives guests the option to reuse linens and towels instead of replacing them daily.
• Guests are advised to specific ways they can reduce their environmental impact during their stay.
• Instructions and recycling options are available for guests inside the rooms.
• Guests are asked their opinion on ways to improve environmental performance.
• The amenities in guest rooms are biodegradable and contain natural ingredients.
• Plastic bags for laundry, shoes, newspaper and waste are biodegradable.
• Soap bars, bed linen, towels and other items are donated to local charities or staff.
• We recycle all recyclable waste.
• Showers, taps and toilets are fitted with water saving devices.
• Pressurized aerosol cans have been removed and replaced with an ozone-based purification.
• Cleaning staff are trained to perform their work in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Organic fertilizers are used in maintaining the gardens.

CONFERENCE and MEETING SERVICES

• We have a programmable power management system which automatically controls the temperature in rooms, both occupied and unoccupied.
• The notebooks, office paper and other paper products are purchased with a minimum recycled content of 30%.
• Acrylic panels are available to reduce paper use.
• Reusable cloth napkins replace disposable paper napkins.
• The environmental policies and programs are communicated to meeting planners before and during the events.
• Our conference and meeting staff turns off lights when leaving the office and, if possible, prints on reusable paper and recycles all recyclable waste.

FOOD and BEVERAGE

• Energy levels are reduced through the installation of energy-saving bulbs.
• Water consumption levels are reduced through the use of flow controllers, pedals in the sink and electronic photocell on the keys to the kitchen staff.
• Organic waste is separated from the regular waste stream.
• We recycle all recyclable waste.
• Fats and cooking oils are separated and disposed as special waste.
• The Food and Beverage department’s staff turns off lights when leaving the office and, if possible, prints on reusable paper and recycles all recyclable waste.

• Regular maintenance and adjustments are made in the ventilation systems and air conditioning.
• We have boilers that emit low levels of NOx.
• Fire extinguishers are recharged with environmentally friendly products.
• The energy levels are reduced through the installation of water-saving devices in the sub power station, installation of energy saving light bulbs and motion sensors.
• Powered boilers operate with natural gas

PURCHASING

• When appropriate, products are purchased in bulk to reduce the cost price, packaging and disposal.
• We have made arrangements with vendors to return excess packaging or only accept recyclable containers.
• Supplier's environmental policies are requested and evaluated before making purchase decisions.

HUMAN RESOURCES

• Blood donation campaign.
• Allows students from universities and technological institutes to conduct their professional practices within the hotel premises.
• Healthy snacks given daily to pregnant women.
• Cash assistance is given to hotel employees for marriage, births, deaths and through parent affiliation. Additionally, they have a life insurance policy and receive special discounts when using the services of the hotel.
• Food is supplied daily to all the hotel staff.
• We have a formal environmental awareness program for employees.
