“Good hotel in a worn out remote location”

I chose this hotel for nearness to Corning Museum of Glass and the indoor pool. Warning to those thinking of taking kids to Corning... there is nothing else to do in the area and the closest place for kids fun (up to age 8) is 30 minutes a way and options are limited. The museum itself is interesting but my 4 and 6 year old were ready to kill me out of boredom. My 8 year old got into it. Museum is pricey as well. The hotel pool was accessible but warning... without goggles your eyes will burn. I don't just mean a bit... I opened my eyes once and later that night it felt like I had glass in them! I thought that maybe it was something else but my 4 year old's goggles broke the next day and she opened her eyes and later... it was a night from hell. I reported it to the front desk... but users beware. The pain doesn't come on until later. She screamed for 2 hours until we put a moisturizing ointment in them. Food in the hotel restaurant was good (We only had breakfast)... but a little pricey. Location is great for walking Market Street but I think it has lost its glamour and there is not much there now. All told... a 3.5 star hotel in a remote location... don't plan to stay in the area lomng unless you do day trips to the rest of the region. We spent the day in Watkins Glen and rented a ski boat... it was the highlight of the trip.
