  • Art Gallery of New South Wales (2.0 km)
Tourists and locals flock to this gallery (housed in a building that dates to 1885) to see the country's largest collection of aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. It also houses impressive collections of Asian art and 19th and 20th century Australian art.
  • Australian National Maritime Museum (1.6 km)
This museum encourages visitors to tap into Australia's essence through displays about the discovery and exploration of the country and the arrival of immigrants in seven thematic areas.
  • BridgeClimb (2.5 km)
BridgeClimb is an adventure that offers visitors the chance to climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a city landmark. After climbing the 1337 steps to the top, you are rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of Sydney Harbour.
  •  Capitol Theater (1 km)
Sydney's Capitol Theatre is home of many world-famous productions, such as "The Lion King," "Billy Elliot," and "Wicked."
  • Customs House (2.2 km)
Built in 1845, this structure was one of the most important buildings in the colony for many years. Currently, the French Neoclassical building houses exhibition spaces, a craft gallery, bars, the main Sydney library and restaurants.
  • Darling Harbour (1 block)
With some of the best entertainment in Sydney, Darling Harbour is home to the Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World, Chinese Garden of Friendship, IMAX Theatre, Powerhouse Museum, Sydney Entertainment Centre and the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. Cockle Bay Wharf, King Street Wharf and Circular Quay are also located in Darling Harbour.
  • Hyde Park (4 blocks)
Named after London's own Hyde Park, this stretch of greenspace spans three city blocks. Among the many interesting sites you'll find are the ANZAC War Memorial, Archibald Fountain and the Hyde Park Barracks of the famous Australian Museum, a historical and anthropological museum.
  • Macquarie Street (2.0 km)
Much of Sydney's finest Georgian and Victorian architecture can be found on this street, along with many restored public buildings. Some of the buildings include Sydney Hospital (dating from 1894), the State Library of New South Wales (which houses Captain Cook's original journals), Parliament House, and the Royal Mint.
  • Museum of Contemporary Art (2.1 km)
Contemporary art aficionados give plaudits to this museum, not only for its extensive collection of 7000-plus pieces of art but for the beautiful Art Deco building that houses the collection.
  • Queen Victoria Building (3 blocks)
Built in 1898, this Byzantine-style sandstone building now shelters Sydney's most beautiful shopping center. The Queen Victoria Building, which resembles a palace, features 21 domes, each of which is 65 feet in diameter.
  • The Rocks Historic District (2.1 km)
An important district both historically and currently, The Rocks remains largely as it existed in the 1800s, even though it has been part of significant changes in the city. This district includes a plethora of shops and restaurants as well as the famous Cadman's Cottage.
  • Sydney Harbour Bridge and Pylon Lookout (5 blocks)
Known to locals as "The Coat Hanger," the Sydney Harbour Bridge was the longest single-span bridge in the world when it was built in 1932. Tutankhamun's tomb had just been discovered during this period as well, which is why the pylons have an Egyptian aesthetic.
  • Sydney Opera House (2.8 km)
Despite its misleading name, the Sydney Opera House actually includes five different performance spaces: a concert hall, an opera theatre and three spaces for dramatic arts. In addition, concerts and festivals are given outside in the courtyard area.
  • Sydney Tower Centrepoint (3 blocks)
This tower's observation deck is the highest in the southern hemisphere, and at 1,000 feet, the tower is by far Sydney's tallest structure. Those who dare the Sydney Tower Skywalk can enjoy a view from Wollongong to the Blue Mountains, which encompasses the north to central coast.
