Conveniently located in the heart of Long Island, New York, the Radisson Hotel is only minutes away from the breathtaking beaches, wine country, museums, major businesses, shopping and attractions. Whether you are driving east to the jet-setting Hamptons or west to the fabulous environs of Manhattan, the Hotel's immediate access to the Long Island Expressway makes traveling a 'breeze'.

Islip MacArthur's Airport is less than six miles and New York's LaGuardia and JFK International Airport or less than 50 miles from the Hotel. Due to the central location, major companies such as Symbol Technologies, Brookhaven National Labs, Internal Revenue Service, Computer Associates and many others are only a short distance. Robert Moses State Park and Beaches and the resort community of Port Jefferson (with the Orient Point Ferry to Connecticut) are nearby.

Vintage Hospitality

In little over quarter of a century the Long Island wine industry has grown from a single vineyard to over 3,000 acres of vines and over thirty wineries. It's one of the country's most exciting wine producing regions, with its blends earning high praise, top awards and coveted spots on wine lists coast to coast.

The majority of the wineries and vineyards are located in Suffolk County, on its East End, on the North and South Forks where Long Islands maritime climate, geography and soil characteristics provide ideal conditions. Take in the beauty of the region as you tour the vineyards and taste the results yourself - on a tour and in our restaurant where Long Island wines are featured selections. Cheers!

About Long Island

Never let it be said that there's nothing east of the Big Apple ... especially if a Long Islander is present. The counties of Nassau and Suffolk, once prime farmland, have long been revered for their natural beauty: rolling hills, dense forests, tidal marshes, glacier-cut shorelines, and white-sand beaches. So striking, in fact, is Long Island's scenery that, in the early 20th century, Nassau County's northwest corner became known as the Gold Coast because so many millionaires from the city built massive mansions there including Fitzgerald's fictional Jay Gatsby. Suffolk County, meanwhile, lays claim to being the birthplace of poet Walt Whitman and home to Fire Island, a long, narrow barrier island that's a designated National Seashore. On its eastern end, LI splits into the North and South Forks, collectively known as The Hamptons. A playground for New York's rich and famous, towns like Southampton, East Hampton, and Montauk are widely known for their upscale shopping, elite restaurants, and charming waterside inns. The Hamptons is also building a name for itself in oenology. In addition, Long Island is known for lighthouses, nature reserves and parks (terrific for everything from bird-watching to cross-country skiing), and excellent fishing waters, all of which make the area a good destination, no matter the season.

Did you know?

It often surprises first-time visitors to the Hamptons to scan wine lists at top restaurants and find local products included. In fact, the eastern tip of Long Island, especially the North Fork, has developed quite a reputation in the winemaking industry since the 1970s, thanks to vineyards like Pindar and Castello di Borghese.
