Conveniently located in downtown San Antonio off 1-10, next to Market Square. Just minutes by trolley or courtesy van service to the Alamo, Riverwalk, Convention Center, Alamodome, shopping and restaurants.A short drive to SeaWorld and FiestaTexas, and 15 minutes to San Antonio International Airport.

Of course, downtown San Antonio means more than the Alamo and the Riverwalk. If you have a worldwide taste for food, you're going to find so many diverse restaurants you'll wonder if you're really in Texas. And at the first setting of the sun, the music and nightlife start and never seem to stop.

Above all, if you were meant to shop, San Antonio will seem like paradise. There are dozens of riverside and street-level shops and boutiques. None, however, as unique as Market Square/EI Mercado. You can shop all day in a Mexican market filled with unique and authentic fashions, gifts, souvenirs, vendors, music and fine restaurants. The history of Market Square, in a sense, reflects that of San Antonio. The first gathering place for farmers to sell their produce, it was influenced by Spanish missionaries, Belgian farmers and German settlers. Its final definition, you'll find, is decidedly Mexican.

About San Antonio

San Antonio is often dubbed a crossroads, and with good reason: a dynamic blend of Hispanic, Native American, and European cultures animates the city. Located in southern Texas, the area was settled by Apaches drawn to the refreshing waters of the river. Spanish missionaries arrived in 1691, but the city was officially founded in 1718 when the Mission San Antonio de Valero (better known as the Alamo) was established. Festivals such as the Texas Folklife Festival and Fiesta San Antonio! maintain the city's manifold cultures. Today, telecommunications goliath AT&T and NBA heroes the Spurs bring San Antonians together, as does the city's signature River Walk. This 3-mile stretch of restaurants, bars, and shops along the San Antonio River provides the ideal place for the city (and plenty of tourists) to mix and mingle.

Did you know?

A defining moment in American history. On February 13, 1836, Mexican leader Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna led more than 2,500 soldiers to San Antonio as part of an effort to quell an uprising for Texas independence from Mexico. A small garrison at the old Alamo mission held Santa Anna's forces at bay for thirteen days before they were overwhelmed.
