About Pleasant Prairie

Pleasant Prairie is both a lovely village and a quaint suburb of southeast Milwaukee. Located along the shore of Lake Michigan, it's centrally located between Chicago and Milwaukee. Travelers with a penchant for sweets flock to Pleasant Prairie each year to tour the Jelly Belly jellybean warehouse facility. History buffs, then, take in regional information at the History Center and separate Public Museum in neighboring Kenosha. Athletics are a popular pastime in the village, and Pleasant Prairie's annual triathlons draw scores of athletes from across the Midwest. To train for them, visitors and residents utilize the LakeView RecPlex at Pleasant Springs Park. This facility is home to an aquatic center, indoor water park, fitness center, 1/6-mile indoor track, and spacious field house with basketball and volleyball courts. Shoppers also enjoy bargain hunting at local outlet centers, which feature dozens of designer shops and an array of items at discount prices.

Did you know?

The Kenosha area has produced a good number of actors through the years and gets particularly strong representation from its substantial Italian-American community. The pool of talent includes Don Ameche ("Cocoon"), Daniel J. Travanti ("Hill Street Blues"), and Al Molinaro (the affable diner owner from "Happy Days").
