Even more well known is that the greater Orlando area holds the mantle of being one of the world's premier tourist destinations, from swan boats and Clydesdales to oranges and alligators. The historic Osceola County Courthouse in downtown Kissimmee is the oldest courthouse still in use in the state of Florida. This beautiful Romanesque building, with its redbrick façade and signature bell tower, was completed in 1890. Over the years its hallowed halls have seen litigation take place on everything from capitol cases to livestock theft. The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
