This 1940s supper club-style eatery is known for steaks, but they also serve some wonderful seafood, including pan-seared sea scallops, lobster thermidor and seared Ahi tuna. There are plenty of sides to perfectly compliment your meal, and the extensive wine list means you're sure to find something to suit your tastes.

MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY. First, the basics. In order to dine at Five O'Clock, you absolutely must make a reservation. Reservations for Friday and Saturday evenings are taken starting at 4pm on Tuesdays, and you'll need to call right at 4pm (along with hundreds of others). Once you have that coveted reservation, though, you're set. Upon arrival, have a seat in the bar, place your order, and then relax with a cocktail. Once at your table you'll find a huge salad, bread, and a relish tray ­ they're all good, but don't eat too much, because the steaks are huge. Most recommended are the filet mignon, pork chops, and a bone-in rib eye, served with the house's patented meaty juice and your choice of potato. The ambience is very relaxed, in a 1950s supper club sort of way.

Crawdaddy's offers a casual New Orleans-style dining experience and some of the best and most unique seafood dishes in town. Ribs, brisket, and chicken get the royal treatment here, smoked and slow cooked until the meat is tender and delicious; three sauces are served on the side. Combo platters are a good choice, and you can even get family-size dinners, complete with sides. The lunchtime crowd usually opts for sandwiches, with pulled pork, Cajun catfish, and rotisserie chicken being popular choices. A family-friendly Milwaukee favorite by day, Brew City also has a lively bar scene and live music on weekends.
