H Distinction

Superior Hygiene Standards at the Radisson Flamingos Hotel Mexico City
The "H" Distinction refers to hygiene, confidence and security in food handling. This program began in 1988 and started operations in 1990. 

The "H" Distinction requirements are:

  • 80% of operational personnel and 100% of middle commands must be trained through the "Hygienic Handling of Food" course, given by instructors approved by the Secretary of Tourism
  • All food hygiene requirements defined by Mexican rule NMX-F-605-NORMEX-2000 must be fulfilled

Important requirements include:

  • Food preparation
  • Food reception
  • Food storage
  • Handling of chemical substances
  • Personnel
  • Refrigeration and freezing chambers control
  • Sanitary services for employees
  • Service area
