One of São Paulo's oldest bars, Bar Brahma has an appealing upscale-yet-casual feel with three main spaces. The largest space serves mainly as a dining room and live music venue, with frequent samba and jazz performers entertaining the crowd. The bar, with its wood paneling and checkerboard floor, has the quintessential "neighborhood hangout" vibe ­ it's the kind of place you can easily lose a few hours in. Finally, there's the sidewalk terrace, the perfect spot to do some people watching while you chat with friends over a few beers. Prices are reasonable and the food (feijoda, paella and other similar dishes) is tasty and filling.
