Hospitality Awards

Stay at the Award-winning Radisson Fort McDowell Resort
The Radisson Fort McDowell Resort continues to garner awards and praise worldwide. During the Carlson Hotels Worldwide Business Conference, held in Paris, France, on May 8-11, 2007, the AAA Four Diamond resort won three major awards:
  • White Glove Award: Given to just one Radisson in the 240-hotel chain. The Radisson Fort McDowell was selected by a survey of the industry's most exacting judges - the customers - for this singular honor.
  • Radisson President's Award: The President's Award represents the best of the best of the Radisson properties in the Americas and Great Britain. The award recognizes "hotels that have demonstrated their exceptional commitment to guest service and product quality," says Nancy Johnson, Executive Vice President of Full Service Hotels for Carlson Hotels Worldwide. This year, just 42 properties were singled out for honors.
  • Guest's Choice Award: Also awarded by survey, this award recognizes customers' favorite hotels.
"These three awards are what the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation had in mind from the very start when considering a luxury resort in our community," says Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation President Raphael Bear. "Our goal then and now is to build great projects, and it's clear from the accolades showered upon our resort by the Carlson Group that our original concept is bearing fruit. It's also gratifying that our approach to building quality into all of our economic enterprises is recognized throughout the entire hotel and resort industry."

Bear added, "Although we are proud to receive these awards, we are aware that much work remains to be done, so our work of building a prosperous and sustainable community continues."

"Today, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation is realizing the fruits of many years' labor by strong leaders of yesterday and today," says FMYN Vice President Bernadine Burnette. "These awards that our Radisson Fort McDowell Resort earned are the result of the positive attitude and sincerity of our management and employees. We're also very excited for and appreciative of another successful enterprise in the customer service and entertainment industries."

"We truly want to say thank you to all the employees that made this happen."

"To receive so many awards within such a short amount of time is a tremendous achievement," said Greg Carrish, general manager of the resort. "Since we opened our doors on November 30, 2005, we've been blessed with a staff of highly talented and customer-centric individuals who demonstrate our 'Yes I Can' philosophy on a daily basis. I congratulate each one of them for their contributions in helping us achieve such honors and proudly celebrate these accomplishments with them."
