Social Responsibility Series III

October 28, 2009, the Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park continues its charity spirit to the Nursing House in Lian Yang community of Pudong by taking another group of the elderly people to the Exhibition Center of World EXPO Shanghai at Huaihai Road for their visual concept of this world event. This is the second trip to the EXPO Center and the third series of the hotel's World EXPO social responsibility programme.

The hotel also gets special support from the Bureau of Shanghai World EXPO Coordination in distributing brochures and souvenirs.

Social Responsibility Series II

September 22, 2009, the Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park continue its charity spirit to the Nursing House in Lian Yang community of Pudong by taking the elderly people to the Exhibition Center of World EXPO Shanghai at Huaihai Road for their visual concept of this world event.

As World EXPO 2010 is approaching, the hotel organizes a series of activities for the older generation's better understanding and participates in this great once in a lifetime event.

This is the second launch of the hotel’s World EXPO social responsibility programme. Prior to this, a brief speech-based introduction about EXPO had been given to the elderly people.

Social Responsibility Series I


On August 21, 2009, the Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park visited the Nursing House in Lian Yang community of Pudong with a short introduction of World EXPO 2010 and refreshment of cakes.

The hotel is committed to social responsibilities through caring for the under-privileged and the elderly. Since World EXPO 2010 is approaching, the hotel launches a series of World EXPO 2010 programs for the old generations to easily understand and participation of this world event. The hotel also gets special support from the Bureau of Shanghai World EXPO Coordination in distributing brochures and souvenirs.

Inspirational Master - Nothing is impossible


Ms. Min Zhang (left), Deputy General Manager of Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park, warmly welcomed Mr. John Coutis (right), an internationally renowned inspirational speaker during his stay at the hotel.

Born in Australia with deformed legs and dislocated internal organs, at the age of 16, his legs were removed, and cancer cells attacked at the age of 19.

But Mr. Coutis defied medical diagnosis. He not only won the championship of tennis in the Australian Handicapped Sports Meeting but also obtained secondary certificates in cricket and football. In 2006, he married a beautiful girl, Rene, who brought him a son. His miraculous experiences tell us that nothing is impossible.

Today, Mr. Coutis speaks all around the world to hundreds of thousands of people, telling his stories and encouraging them to lead a good life, overcome difficulties and realize their life goals. He says "Live the life you wish to live, don't let life live you."

Charity Golf Tournament


Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park participated in the 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at Shanghai Links on June 5, 2009. The hotel offered generous sponsorship to show its support for this charity event.

Organized by Shanghai Charity Foundation and in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Shanghai, this year, the SCF intends to raise more proceeds from the project to give education in care of the elderly to another 1,000 migrant workers since the demand for such workers is increasing.

Hand in Hand


May 5, 2009, the hotel continues to offer material and educational support to the Yang Dong Primary School.

The hotel offers professional hospitality training in English Language as well as departmental training to the students from Bo Yi senior class.

This class is specially supported by the Culture Regeneration Research Society of Canada with 80 students graduating in July.

The hotel supports the students in the pursuit of a better, brighter future.

Charity Spirit


Mr. Terry Manns (4th left), Executive Assistant Manager of Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park, attended the Grand Opening Ceremony of the Charity Foundation of Yangdong Primary Migrant School on April 20, 2009 to show the hotel's support of the foundation. Terry said the hotel is committed to uplifting the less privileged in our community and helping the children of the school achieve a better, brighter future.

Flying Kites - Raising Hopes


On March 21st, 2009, the Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park held a "Flying Kites - Raising Hopes" activity and charity donation ceremony.

As a result of the hotel's charity activities over the Lunar New Year, a donation of RMB 8,888.00 was made to the Yang Dong Primary School for Children of Migrant Workers.

After the ceremony, the students flew kites with the hotel management and local residents at Thumb Plaza in Pudong.
