Find fun things to do near scenic Japan Square

Situated between the upscale Batel and Água Verde communities, Radisson Hotel Curitiba boasts quick commutes to downtown and area attractions like the German Woods. Simply stroll across Sete de Setembro Avenue to view the beautiful Japan Square, or drive 15 minutes east to wander among the breathtaking flowers at the Botanical Garden of Curitiba. For something a little less tranquil, head to Arena da Baixada for an adrenaline-pumping soccer game or to Estação Mall for a thrilling shopping spree. The Radisson is also surrounded by major businesses like ADP, Chubb, DHL and Chevron.

Outdoor getaways:

  • Japan Square (across the street)
Located in the heart of Curitiba, this public park and garden features artificial ponds and more than two dozen cherry trees sent from the Japanese Empire. For a deeper look into the Land of the Rising Sun, visit the House of Culture and the Tea House.
  • German Woods (4.4 km)
While most of this 38,000-square-meter forest is full of natural foliage, this tourist destination features other fascinating attractions like a concert hall, a gazebo and the Hansel and Gretel Trail.
  • Botanical Garden of Curitiba (5.8 km)
Experience these exquisite gardens through sight, smell and sound as you stroll past French-style statues, blossoming plants and trickling fountains.

Amazing architecture:

  • Estação Mall (4 km)
Formerly a railway station, this multilevel mall maintains many of the architectural features from its station days and even has a small train inside. Take a break from shopping to tour the on-site museum and dine at the food court.
  • Wire Opera House (6.7 km)
Walk across the steel bridge to the entrance of this innovative opera house, where you can marvel at the tall ceiling in the auditorium while viewing the surrounding waterfalls, rock formations and green vegetation through glass walls.

Adrenaline rush:

  • Panoramic Tower (2.5 km)
Get a 360-degree view of Curitiba and the surrounding landscape from atop this telecommunications tower. At nearly 110 meters tall, it’s one of the highest points in the city.
  • Arena Joaquim Américo Guimarães (2.8 km)
Better known as Arena da Baixada, this 43,000-seat stadium is home to the Atlético Paranaense soccer team and was the first stadium in South America to have a retractable roof.
