Mountain bikers test their skill and endurance each January on the challenging trails of Franklin Mountains State Park.
- Franklin Mountains Poppies Celebration
This March event celebrates the blooms of yellow poppies in the mountains. Come out and enjoy the beautiful outdoors!
- KLAQ International Balloonfest
A military tribute and the excitement of dozens of giant hot air balloons make for a great way to spend your Memorial Day weekend.
- Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon
Cheer on the athletes running marathons and half-marathons through El Paso’s neighborhoods. This annual Boston Marathon Qualifier race is held in February.
- Mighty Mujer Triathlon
This challenging all-women race, held in April, includes a 300-yard swim, a 15-kilometer bike race and a 3.2-kilometer run. The event supports the Center Against Sexual & Family Violence.
- Mission Valley Duathon
Held in late May, this race starts with a 5K run that’s followed by a 20-kilometer bicycle race along the Mission Trail/Socorro Road, and finishes with a second 5K.
- Neon Desert Music
This outdoor music festival at the end of May pulses with energy. Rock the night away with great music, light shows and plenty of neon face paint.
- Plaza Classic Film Festival
The world’s largest classic film festival shares some of cinema’s greatest masterpieces with today’s audiences in a restored 1930s theater.
- Southwestern International PRCA Rodeo
See all the excitement of bull riding, steer wrestling, lasso competitions and more at El Paso's longest-running sporting event.
- Sun Bowl
At the end of December, NCAA college football teams battle for glory at the Sun Bowl, located at the University of Texas at El Paso.
- Sun City Music Festival
Some of the biggest names in electronic music gather in El Paso during Labor Day weekend. Artists have included Kaskade, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and Skrillex, just to name a few.
- Sunland Derby
Take in the excitement of thoroughbred horse races at Sunland Park Racetrack. This March event is a prep race for the world-famous Kentucky Derby.
