Colorful fireworks on a night sky

See Amazing Fireworks and Lights Displays

For the first time ever, the Cascades of Fire International Fireworks Competition is set to light up the Niagara Falls skies. Over the course of six weekend nights in November, award-winning pyrotechnic teams from China, Finland, Brazil, Vietnam and Italy will be showcasing 18-minute fireworks displays synchronized to music. The competition will feature one show each night the weekends of November 9 and November 16, 2018, with all shows beginning at 9 p.m.

Each presentation will be judged on the following categories:

  • Theme and choice of music
  • Creativity
  • Selection of effects and use within the display
  • Synchronization to the music selection
  • Crowd reaction and appreciation

Closing ceremonies will take place Sunday, November 18, with the mayor of Niagara Falls presenting awards to the competitors. As the hosts, Team Canada will put on a special fireworks finale for this last night.
