Kashi Vishwanath Temple – Also known as the Golden Temple, Kashi Vishwanath is about three miles away and is one of the 12 holiest Shiva temples. Visit this famous Hindu shrine in the afternoon to avoid the larger crowds, and remember that metal objects are not allowed inside.
Main Ghats at River Ganges – These riverfront steps that lead to the River Ganges are less than four miles away. The city has a total of 86 ghats, which are used for bathing, ceremonies and other religious rituals. For a special view of the river, charter a dawn boat ride.
